Using Zone Valves and Circulating Pumps in a Heating System

This is an example of how to use zone valves and Pumps for a heating system.

You will notice that in the Picture Below there are 8 zones with 4 Zone Valves the other zones appear to be always feed when the boiler is on. (All this is on a Secondary Loop) But, there could be a mixing station higher up that controls the flow and tempeature - but this is not show in this picture. You will also see that one zone is going to a PEX Manifold with 9 loops. There does not appear to be a mixing valve thus we can assume that this manifold get the water at boiler tempeature.

Heating with Zone Valves and Circulating Pumps

This is only an example. Actual layouts vary from job to job.
