The heater operates only when the hot water outlet is turned on. The VariFlame control system keeps the water temperature constant regardless of the flow rate or incoming water temperature. With 55,000 BTUs of heating capacity, the ShowerMate has five to six times the power of typical tank heaters - and all without engine power or shore power. It’s lightweight, compact, efficient and installs almost anywhere. In fact, the typical boat owner can expect to use very little propane for all this comfort; estimated 920 gallons of shower temperature water* per 20 pounds of propane.
