Electric Radiant Heat Mesh Rolls and Mats Underfloor Electric Radiant Heating is achieved when the mesh backed rolls and mats are embedded in thinset cement at the time of the floor installation. Radiant Heat Mesh Rolls are made of a heating wire secured to a fiberglass net and generate up to 51 btu/hour/sq.ft. (equivalent to 15 watt/ sq.ft.). Electric Radiant Heat Mesh Rolls are usually installed as a source of comfort and supplemental heat. However, in most cases, electric radiant heat can be designed and used as a primary source of heat.
