Multi-Air Fresh Air System
|
Homes need a reliable flow of fresh air. Leaks and cracks just won't do it any more. Heat
recovery ventilators (HRV) do a great job of distributing fresh air throughout the home, but they
are expensive and can be complex. Exhausting with a bathroom fan is much simpler, but only
provides half of the equation. The Multi-Air™ solves these problems by directing fresh air
through small ducts into as many as four rooms.
The Multi-Air is a small distribution system that has a fresh air intake fitting, four distribution
connections, an integral fan, and a replaceable, efficient filter. Fresh air is drawn in from the
outside through a 6" diameter duct. The air is pulled through a filter and then pushed out through
three 2" and one 3" duct. Low velocity air exits the grilles and mixes with the room air,
blending its temperature.
The Multi-Air can be connected to the same control that operates the bathroom exhaust fan.
When connected to the bathroom exhaust fan, both fans will run simultaneously, providing a
balanced supply and exhaust system. The Multi-Air can be wired to run continuously. When other fans
are not running, the Multi-Air can provide a positive pressure ventilation system.
The Multi-Air distribution box should be installed in an accessible location where filter
changing can be easily accomplished. The duct runs should be kept as short and straight as possible.
The grilles should be installed on the wall of the room, approximately 6" from the ceiling.
We recommend installing the 3" duct line and grille in the master bedroom or the largest room.
