*Can I put screws in B Vent?* Yes, if desired, but DO NOT PUNCTURE INNER LINER! *How do I order steep roof flashing for pitches over 7/12?* Follow stock number with a "-S" (i.e., S/N 141-S). *Which support do I use: round or square support?* Usually the square firestop support is used at the ceiling; the round bucket support bucket may also be used if transitioning to single wall pipe. *What is the inner liner made of?* .016" thick aluminum. *Can I common vent a gas fireplace?* No. Common vent tables only cover furnaces, boilers or water heaters. *Is this L-Vent?* No. L-Vent needs stainless steel inner liner. *Can I use B Vent on an oil furnace?* No. Oil requires stainless steel inner liner. *How often do I support the pipe?* Support about every 4 to 5 feet. Use wall strap or square firestop, or round bucket ceiling supports. *Is a draft hood connector needed?* Some water heaters require one; (Always check with the mfg installation manual). *What is the maximum temperature?* 400° + AMB (room temperature). *Can I terminate the pipe horizontally?* No. Appliances approved to vent horizontal usually cannot use B vent. *What is minimum termination height?* There is a 1' minimum for up to 7/12 roof pitch. Always check the installation manual and obey all local and national code *How do I size my appliance?* Always check with a certified gas installer and/or installation manual and obey all local and national code *What is the overlap of pipe?* 1 and 1/2" overlap per connection or 3/4" per end of pipe. *What flashing do I use for flat roof?* Tall cone flashing is for flat (0/12) roof pitch. *Can I cut any straight pieces to make shorter pieces?* No. You can not cut Type B vent - but you can use the Adjustable Length Pipe - Model 5GV12A - 0052 to get the the lenght of pipe you need.
