PEX Fasteners for HousePEX PEX-A, HousePEX PEX-C or Safelink Alum PEX
The PEX fasteners on this page are used in both slab on grade radiant heat floors, thin slab
radiant heat systems and under floor radiant heat installations.
PEX Tubing should be fastened every 2 to 3 feet.
(Houseneeds, Inc. recommends every 2 feet)
- Cable ties are used to tie
PEX Tubing to rebar or wire mesh reinforcing.
- Talon clamps are used for
thin slab radiant floors to hold the
PEX pipe in place
until the pour. Large electrical staples can also be used for
thin slab radiant floors providing they are driven in so there is still room between the
staple and the PEX Tubing.
- Talon clamps can also be used to install the
PEX Tubing directly to the bottom of the
sub floor with
under floor radiant heat installations.
- The rigid insulation screw clips are used when your concrete contains fiber reinforcing and
no wire mesh or rebar is used. You screw the insulation screw clips directly into the
rigid insulation and then snap the
PEX Tube into them.
- PEX stand off clips are used for
under floor radiant heat installations and
allow the PEX piping to expand and contract quietly.
- Slide brackets are used for
underfloor heating system installation between joists. Allows for quick
install, quiet because it allows the
PEX tubing to move back and forth over the slide
brackets. Use zip ties to attach PEX tubing to the slide brackets.

PEX Protection Sleeve and PVC Bend Guides for HousePEX PEX-A, HousePex PEX-C or Safelink ALUM PEX
Protection Sleeves are used to cover PEX at construction/expansion joints and at slab penetrations.
It is important to have these in your concrete (slab) radiant heat system.
Create 90 degrees bends by inserting PEX pipe into these rigid plastic PVC Bend Guides.
Also provide protection and anchorage at slab penetrations and create professional
appearance at manifolds.

Heat Transfer Plates for 1/2 Inch PEX Pipe
PEX Radiant Heat Transfer Plates are used with joist space installation method to enhance heat transfer.
1/2 Inch HousePEX PEX-A or PEX-C (Or any NSF Certified PEX Pipe) snaps into plate for convenient installation.
Plates are 4 1/2" wide by 24" long and .016 inches thick.
When installing HousePEX or Safelink's Mr. PEX tubing under the floor with
heat transfer plates you should install the PEX 8 inches on center.
PEX Heat Transfer Plates should be kept as straight as possible so as the PEX expands it will be
able to slide quietly.
We suggest you use a chalk line to help line up the plates straight. You should place
the plates as close together as possible and
at the ends where the PEX curves back to the next line of PEX heat transfer plates
we suggest that you support the curve at both ends with a piece of wood between
the joists. The wood should have rounded edges and support the PEX as close as
possible to the sub floor as you can without having it bind in any way. Doing
this should allow the PEX to move at both ends assuring as quiet an installation
as possible. Talon clamps are used also in conjunction with PEX heat transfer plates
for under floor radiant installations to help hold the PEX neatly to and from
the pex manifold.

Extruded Aluminum Heat Transfer Plates for 3/8 PEX & 1/2 PEX Pipe
Our Extruded Aluminum Heat Transfer Plates for PEX Radiant Heat are also used with
joist space installation method to enhance heat transfer. However, our extruded Aluminum Heat Transfer Plates
are thicker and will hold the pex better with less movement and better heat transfer. This will allow you
to run with a lower water temperature and run with less noise than the above 24 inch heat transfer plates.
3/8 and 1/2 Inch PEX Pipe is pounded into the plates with a rubber mallet.
These aluminum plates are 4" wide by 48" long.
4 inch by 48 inch Extruded Aluminum Heat Transfer Plate for 3/8 and 1/2 inch PEX
Radiant Tubing.
