How to figure out how many Thermostat(s) you need for your electric Heaters?
This Thermostat - Model M601W is rated for 21 amps at 110/220 volts.
So - to figure out what you need - add up all the watts your heaters will use
and divide by your volts. Watts divided by voltage = amps.
When in doubt - use a lower voltage.
For example: 1 Electric Heaters at 1,600 watts at 110 volts.
1 times 1,500 watts = 1,600 watts
1,600 watts / 110 volts = 14.55 amps
So - model M601W would be big enough for this application.
Another Example: 2 Electric Heaters at 1,600 watts each at 110 volts.
2 times 1,600 watts = 3,200 watts
3,200 watts / 110 volts = 29.09 amps
So - model M601W would not be big enough for this application and
you would have to
use two separate thermostats - one for each heater.
