Do I need a storage tank for hot water? My water source is a lake or well. Will this effect the operation of the boiler? What is a combination boiler? How does the Luna heating water not contaminate the domestic water? What kind of warranty comes with the Luna boiler? Can I vent the boiler through an existing chimney? Can I use glycol in the Luna? What kind of maintenance does the Luna require? Will hard water scale the domestic hot water heat exchanger? |
Maybe - maybe not. The Baxi Luna 3.10Fi has a built-in heat exchanger that will give you about 4 gallons per minute - and more if you input water is warmer than 50-degrees. So - you can run a shower with no problems. If you want to get more hot water - then couple the Luna 1.310Fi without the heat exchanger and couple the Baxi Luna with an indirect tank. With indirect tanks - you can get a lot of hot water. We sell Monitor Indirect Tanks that are great for this type of applications. From 25 gallons to 80 gallons. As long as the water can be strained or filtered before entering the boiler, there shouldn’t be an issue. A combination boiler is one, which is capable of providing both hot water used to heat a space and hot water for domestic use. The Luna boiler is a combination boiler. The heating water is in a closed loop. Although the heating water and domestic water pass through the secondary heat exchanger, they never mix. The standard warranty is 1 year on parts and 10 years on the heat exchangers. No, the boiler must be vented as per the manufactures recommendations. Yes, but only to a maximum of 25%. The manufacture recommends an annual inspection. In extreme cases yes, but the heat exchanger is easily removed for cleaning. |
