Solar Star Thermal Switch:
With the optional Thermal Switch installed, the attic fan will turn on when the attic
temperature reaches 85 degrees (with available sunlight) and turn off when the
attic temperature drops below 65 degrees (or when the sun goes down).

to melt and run down where it freezes at the eaves, causing destructive ice damming.
